Oleochemicals are chemicals derived from natural oils/fats which could be of an animal, marine or vegetable oil sources. Derived from breaking the oils/fats into corresponding constituents, i.e. fatty acids, glycerol, fatty esters, etc. Normal process involves hydrolysis or transesterification. Oleochemicals industry in Malaysia started in 1979/1980.
