COA GUIDELINES

We abide to the Container Owners Association Guidelines:

  • Container Selection for Transporting Flexitanks must be specified and tested according to ISO 1496.
  • Flexitank or Container Combination to undergo Rail Impact Test and Materials Testing.
  • Adhesive warning and information labels should be placed on the containers, enabling instant identification of a Flexitank Container Combination and to identify any dangers that may be present.
  • Flexitank operators are prone to incidents, therefore, it also covers the minimum level of insurance that is required for Flexitank manufactures and operations.
  • All parties in the Flexitank manufacturing and transport chain should participate in appropriate training courses.

The Container Owners Association (COA) is an organization that through its flexitank division has set-up guidelines for quality management of flexitank and subsequently has regulated them internationally.

For flexitank operators who proclaims to be compliant with the COA Flexitank Code of Practice (CoP) will have to firstly be an associate member of the organization. Thereafter as a step-up by COA to separate between unscrupulous flexitank operators with those who are genuinely compliant with the CoP, COA Flexitank Certificate of Compliance is put in place.

Flexitank Operators who have completed and passed all 4 Independent Audits for each factory will then be given a Certificate of Compliance. Consequently, you may now refer to the COA Flexitank website and notice that there are 2 different categories of status for members – “COA Member Confirmation” and “COA Member Certificate”.

With this, we are pleased to announce that Infinity Bulk Logistics Sdn Bhd has passed all 4 Audits by COA and on 1 April 2016, the company has been awarded the Certificate of Compliance in which we are also the very first to obtain this certificate globally.
